Show and Picture Makeup – For all Senior Girls
Makeup Tutorial
Supplies needed:
-Makeup brushes
-Face foundation-1 shade darker than your skin color.
-Concealer- Light to highlight under eye
-Rouge/Blush- Pink (no sparkles)
-Eye Shadow- Brown, tan and white (no sparkles or glitter)
-Liquid Black Eyeliner
-Mascara
-Lipstick- Red (no pink or sparkles)
-Eyebrow liner or powder- Match child’s hair color
-Makeup Remover Wipes
1. Start with a clean face. Apply foundation to face, neck and eyelids. This will make the makeup last longer, through sweat and hands touching the face.
2. Take the Brown eye shadow and apply over middle of eye lid and extend it out to make a “tail”. Do not go past the eyebrow. (See picture for details)
3. Take Tan eye shadow and go above Brown, and then white eye shadow above tan and apply under eyebrow to highlight. Not over brown and
tan eyeshadow.
4. Use Concealer under eyes to brighten and get rid of dark circles.
5. Darken eyebrows with brown or black pencil/powder. Use the color that matches the student’s hair color.
6. Blush- Have student smile really big, apply pink blush over apples of cheek bone and up through the hair line over the ears. You can never have enough blush.
7. Use a liquid black eyeliner over the top edge of the eyelid and extend it out in a wing shape, also know as a cat eye.
8. Do NOT apply the lipstick until the last minute at the Auditorium/Studio!!!
9. Add mascara on eyelashes on the top and bottom
10. Stand back about 20 feet from yourself in a mirror. If you can’t see the makeup, neither can the audience. Apply more where needed. Practice makes perfect. Practice before the Dress Rehearsals and Performance.
11. Makeup Remover- After everything wipe makeup away gently with a makeup remover wipe. And your done!

Hair Instructions
Hair: For all Dancers -GIRLS
All girls must have their hair in a high flat bun.
Supplies:
-Strong Hair Spay
-Hair gel (as needed)
-Bobby Pins
-Elastic ponytail holder (should match the hair color)
-Comb and Brush
-Invisible Hair net (should match the hair color)
**Do not use a Donut to make bun***
**Dirty hair works the best!**
1. You will begin by combing out the hair, making sure to brush out any existing knots or tangles. Then lightly dampen your hair with water. Dirty hair works best.
2. Next brush all the hair back. Using your brush or comb smooth the hair back neatly. Make sure there are no stray hairs around the face or neck, as a dancer needs to look neat
and tidy. Spay down with hairspray.
3. Position the ponytail on the crown of the head, not on top or too low. Secure the hair tightly into a high ponytail using an elastic ponytail holder. The tighter the ponytail, the better the bun. You want the ponytail to be tight in order to finish with a tight bun, so wrap the elastic several times depending on the thickness of the hair. No parts in the hair.
4. Using the brush or comb, smooth all the loose hairs around the head. Spray with hairspray.
5. You can either twist the hair or make a braid. Either way coil the hairy into a flat tight circle around the pony holder elastic. Secure the end of the hair with 1 or 2 bobby pins. Then use 10 more bobby pins to secure entire Bun down. No less than 8 bobby pins should be used.
6. Take the Invisible hair net and wrap it around the bun, depending on the size of the bun, twist and keep wrapping the hair net over the bun. Secure with more bobby pins.
7. You are almost finished! The next step is to secure your bun with hair pins/bobby pins. Make sure to incorporate a bit of hair from the head and bun in each pin. Small flat bobby pins should lay flat on the head and should be secured under/or through the pony holder. Big wide bobby pins (wig pins) are to snake down and into bun. If any pins push themselves back out, redo those, they will not stay in the hair and the bun will fall out.
8. Spray the entire head and bun with more hair spray. It should feel like a face lift and last till college!
9. And you are done!!!
